beProcurementReady for East Ayrshire Council

SCMG provide procurement support and services to SMEs through EAC’s BeProcurementReady programme. The programme was publicly tendered in 2016 and again in 2019. SCMG bid for and won a contract to provide these services to SMEs bidding for public contracts. The support provided is delivered face to face and includes a portal that participants can continue to use to access useful information and material to help them bid for tenders independently in future. The benefits of public tendering are often mentioned as a “good thing to do” but rarely quantified. The support was delivered on two tiers with one third of participants graduating to Tier 2 and provided with support to bid for a contract. 90% of Tier 2 companies tendered successfully for a contract with a return on investment to the programme of x200 with transformational results for the companies involved.
